Tough Loss for the Guardians
Hey Guardians fans, tough game today as we fell to the Yankees, 5-2, in a tense battle that stretched into extra innings. The boys showed strong moments, but it just didn't swing our way in the end. Let's dive into the play-by-play.Strong Start for Cleveland
Our Guardians drew first blood in the bottom of the second inning with some solid hitting. Josh Naylor reached on an infield single and then Bo Naylor came through with a double to right field, allowing Josh to hustle home for the first run! The boys held the Yankees scoreless through five innings and it was looking good with a 2-0 lead after Steven Kwan hit a clutch single in the fifth to bring in Andrés Giménez.Yankees Rally Back
Unfortunately, the Yankees showed tenacity. In the sixth inning, Giancarlo Stanton hit a monster homer to even the score. Our bullpen tried to hold the line, but it was the 10th inning where things unraveled. Juan Soto struck a devastating 3-run homer, putting the Yankees in front 5-2. Despite our best efforts, we couldn't close the gap in the bottom half of the inning. Hats off to Konnor Pilkington and Enyel De Los Santos for fighting, but the Yankees took this one.
