A Rough Start for the Royals
Hey, Royals fans! This game against the Yankees didn't kick off the way we wanted, did it?
After Cody Bellinger tripled in the top of the 2nd inning and some clutch hitting by the Yankees, we found ourselves down 5-0 early on. It was tough to witness as Paul Goldschmidt and Ben Rice also added to our woes, recording key hits to pad their early lead.Killer 7th from Judge
The game continued with a challenging defensive setup for us through the middle innings, as we struggled to hit any kind of stride. Aaron Judge solidified the Yankees’ lead with a monster home run to center field in the 7th inning, making it 6-0. It was a slow day at the plate for most of our lineup, with Salvador Perez and Jac Caglianone unable to get much going in their at-bats.
Fighting Back in the 9th
Despite being down, the Royals showed some fight in the bottom of the 9th! Vinnie Pasquantino reached on an infield single, and Salvador Perez launched a homer to left to get us on the board with two runs.
Then, with some heads-up base running, Nick Loftin and John Rave gave us a spark, with Rave scoring on a throwing error to bring us within three runs. But, despite our late efforts, we ultimately fell short 6-3.Thanks to all the fans who stayed with us till the end! Let's hope for a better turnout next game. Go Royals!
