Tough Start for the Dodgers
The Dodgers faced a challenging start against the Yankees at home. In the top of the 1st inning, an unfortunate error allowed the Yankees to score first with Trent Grisham crossing the plate. Our guys struggled to find their groove at the plate in the bottom of the inning, with Shohei Ohtani, Teoscar Hernandez, and Freddie Freeman all going down in order.
Edman Sparks Hope
A moment of brilliance came in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Tommy Edman launched a homer to left field, leveling the score and igniting the Dodgers fans! But unfortunately, the Yankees retaliated immediately, with Ben Rice hitting a two-run homer and stretching their lead once again. The Yankees extended their advantage in the top of the 3rd to make it 4-1. Dodgers Fight Back
It looked like the Yankees were pulling away, but in the 7th inning, the Dodgers showed resilience. Andy Pages and Max Muncy hit back-to-back homers, bringing us closer and providing a glimmer of hope! The home run by Muncy electrified the crowd and brought the Dodgers up to 3!
Final Stand
The Yankees added one more to the board before the final inning, bringing the score to 7-3. In the bottom of the 9th inning, the Dodgers couldn’t muster a comeback. Freddie Freeman and the others faced a tough Yankees relief work by Hill, ending with a valiant effort but ultimately a 7-3 defeat. It wasn’t our day, but there's always a next time!
Although the result wasn’t what we hoped for, the Dodgers are still in the fight. Onwards and upwards! Let's go, Dodgers!
