Tough Night for the Yankees
We faced off against the Mets today in a highly anticipated New York showdown at Citi Field. Unfortunately, it was a rough outing for our boys as the final score read 12-6 in favor of the Mets. Despite our best efforts, the Mets's bats along with some miscues on our end were just too much to overcome.Offensive Highlights
There were some bright spots in the lineup tonight!
In the 2nd inning, Jazz Chisholm Jr. slugged a promising homer to left-center, signaling an early fight back from our side. Then, in the 3rd inning, Austin Wells blasted one out to right, trimming their lead a bit more. How about that bomb from Anthony Volpe in the 7th inning? A towering 408-footer! Not to forget Cody Bellinger in the 6th, delivering a clutch double that scored both Trent Grisham and Oswald Peraza.Pitching Struggles and Mets Onslaught
Our rotation had a hard time keeping the Mets at bay
. Carlos Rodón faced some early trouble, giving up a big homer to Brandon Nimmo in the first which put the Mets ahead by 4. Fast forward to the 5th, Pete Alonso's home run further extended their lead. The 7th inning was when Alonso struck again with a three-run homer, and the Mets never looked back. Those late runs from Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto in the 8th just sealed the game for them.Looking Ahead
