Rough Day for the Athletics
What can I say, fellow A's fans?
Early Inning Struggles
The first couple of innings were rough for us. Although we managed to keep the score 0-0 by the end of the 1st inning, the Yankees erupted in the 2nd inning, bringing in five runs. Paul Goldschmidt started the trouble with a double that eventually led to the first run. Even when Shea Langeliers managed a single, luck was not on our side as Miguel Andujar grounded into a double play. It's tough when opportunities just slip through and on defense, errors seemed to cost us.Silver Linings and Bats Awakening
Our guys showed resilience. JJ Bleday gave us something to cheer about with a homer to right in the 5th inning, driving a jolt into our lineup. Even with Gio Urshela's hits and walks, we sadly couldn't build the momentum we craved throughout the game.Pitching Battles
The pitching was a mixed bag for us today. Our starter couldn't escape the damage in the early innings, and even though Luis Severino tried to hold his ground, the Yankees capitalized on small mistakes, driving up the score. Rice's homer in the 5th was a backbreaker, extending their lead further.Looking Ahead
As an A's fan, days like today hurt, but we're all about bouncing back.
