Tough Game for the Jays
Hey Blue Jays fans, what a rollercoaster of a game it was against the Yankees today. Starting strong but ending on a tough note. Here’s the breakdown of what happened.Strong Start for the Jays
We kicked things off on a good note. In the bottom of the 1st inning, Bo Bichette walked, and with a single from George Springer, Bichette scored the first run of the game giving us the lead at 1-0.Pitching Brilliance Early On
Shoutout to our pitcher for a solid start. In the top of the 2nd and 3rd innings, we managed to hold the Yankees scoreless. Great work by the defense to keep the pressure on them.Struggles in the Middle Innings
The tension rose in the 4th inning when the Yankees tied the game 1-1. We saw some promising plays in the bottom of the 5th, extending our lead to 3-1 thanks to Isiah Kiner-Falefa, but then things started to shift.Yankees Take Control
The 6th inning was a tough one. The Yankees came swinging, with Juan Soto hitting a 3-run homer and Gleyber Torres adding another 2-run homer, putting them in the lead 7-3.Kiner-Falefa gave us a glimmer of hope with a solo homer in the bottom of the 6th, bringing the score to 7-4, but we couldn't keep the momentum going.
Final Innings Disappointment
Despite a valiant effort, including a solo homer by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the 7th inning, the Yankees’ bats were relentless. They scored 9 runs in the final two innings, bringing the final score to a disappointing 16-5.Looking Ahead
