Exciting Start in the 1st Inning!
The game began on a high note for the Arizona Diamondbacks as Ketel Marte doubled to right. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. followed with a single to left, scoring Marte and then advancing on a throw. Randal Grichuk kept the momentum going with a ground-rule double that brought Gurriel Jr. home, putting us up 2-0 in the first inning!
Athletics Rally Back in the 3rd
Things took a turn in the 3rd inning when the Athletics fought back. Gelof walked and stole second, setting the stage for Rooker and Langeliers to drive in runs, tying up the game at 2-2. But hey, we weren’t about to back down!Gurriel Jr.'s Bomb Brings Hope
Even though the Athletics took the lead in the 4th inning, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. brought us right back with a monster homer to left in the 6th inning to tie the game at 3-3.
Marte’s Clutch Hit in the 7th
With the game tied, Corbin Carroll walked and moved to third thanks to Geraldo Perdomo's sacrifice. Ketel Marte came up clutch yet again, singling to right and driving in Carroll to give us a 4-3 lead. Let’s go!
8th Inning Blues
Sadly, the Athletics responded in the 8th inning. Soderstrom homered, followed by back-to-back big plays from Gelof and Schuemann. This put the Athletics back on top 6-4. Our bullpen struggled, but our boys kept fighting.Heartbreak in the 9th
The final blow came in the 9th with the Athletics hitting three homers. Despite our best efforts, the game slipped away, ending 9-4. Tough one to swallow, but sometimes that’s how baseball goes.
Looking Ahead
Though we didn't come out on top today, there were some great moments and plays that show our potential. Here’s to hoping we bounce back strong in the next game. Go Diamondbacks!
