Athletics Start Strong, Lead Early
The A's got off to an electrifying start at Wrigley Field, thanks to a monster 408-foot homer by Shea Langeliers in the top of the 1st inning, driving in Brent Rooker who had previously singled to right. The early 2-0 lead certainly boosted the team's morale!Pitching and Defense Hold Strong
Our pitching staff was on point today! Despite some pressure from the Cubs, the defense managed to stay solid. Lawrence Butler extended our lead with a solo shot to right-center in the 3rd inning, giving us a 3-0 cushion.Cubs Battle Back, But We Hold On
The Cubs tried to claw their way back with a homer from Ian Happ in the 3rd inning and another RBI from Michael Busch, but Langeliers wasn't done! He smashed another homer in the 5th inning, making it 4-2 for the A's.Nail-Biting Finish
The Cubs made it interesting in the 9th inning with Happ hitting his second homer of the game to make it 4-3. However, our closer Miller sealed the deal by striking out Seiya Suzuki for the final out.Final Thoughts
