Exciting Start in Cincinnati!
The Oakland Athletics kicked off the first inning with style! Our boys in green and gold quickly put pressure on the Reds' defense. Jeff McNeil started us off strong with a single, followed by Max Muncy’s double. An error by the Reds' second baseman Garrett Hampson allowed McNeil to get home—putting us on the board. Then Cade Marlowe and Zack Gelof came through, each with hits that roared through the stadium, making it 4-0 before the Reds even got to bat!Athletics' Momentum Continues
Our momentum just kept building! By the fourth inning, it was another shining moment as McNeil hammered a homer, driving in Cameron Leary and extending our lead. The excitement was palpable in the stands, as the scoreboard showed 6-2 in favor of our A's.Reds Rally, But A's Clutch the Win
By the seventh inning, the Athletics widened the gap again, scoring off a series of singles and clever base running maneuvers. With runs batted in by Jared Dickey, Jared Sprague-Lott, and Leary, Oakland surged ahead to 9-3. But the Reds didn't go quietly, blasting a late homer in the 8th inning to close to 9-7. Despite the suspenseful last innings, our pitchers held their nerve—special mention to our relief pitchers who kept it locked down—securing an exciting 9-7 victory for the Athletics. What a game!Hats off to McNeil and Marlowe for leading a fantastic offense and to the whole team for this collective triumph. Let’s keep the momentum going, A’s fans!
