A Slow Start
Hey, Tigers fans!
It was a tough game for our boys as we faced the Oakland Athletics and ended up on the wrong side of a 3-0 score. Our bats seemed to hit a cold streak right from the start. In the first inning, Gleyber Torres grounded out, Jahmai Jones struck out, and although Riley Greene gave us a glimmer of hope with a single, Spencer Torkelson ended the inning with a fly out. The pivotal moment of the game happened in the third inning. With a couple of walks, the Athletics' Nick Kurtz hit a booming homer over center field, bringing in three runs.
Our boys struggled to bounce back from this shocking moment, and the scoreboard didn’t budge in our favor throughout the game.Missed Chances and Quiet Bats
Despite some spirited plays like Wenceel Pérez's triple in the 7th inning and Torres’ double in the 8th, we couldn’t capitalize when it mattered. Dillon Dingler, Javier Baez, and Colt Keith came up short in their at-bats, leaving us wondering what could have been.Looking Forward
Our pitching crew worked tirelessly, but with little run support, it just wasn’t our day.
Let’s regroup and stay confident as we continue through the season. Better days are ahead, and our Tigers know how to claw back into the roar of victory!
