We came out swinging in the top of the 1st inning. Lawrence Butler started the fire with a double to left field and then stole third base. A throwing error by Angels' catcher Logan O'Hoppe allowed Butler to score, giving us the early lead. Brent Rooker followed that up with a colossal home run (441 feet) to left field, putting us up 2-0. Our bats were hot right from the get-go!Angels Respond in the 2nd Inning
Unfortunately, the Angels came fighting back in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Despite a strong start by our pitcher, they rallied for five runs, thanks to clutch hits by Logan O'Hoppe and Zach Neto, as well as a key double by Luis Rengifo. This put the Angels ahead 5-2, making it look like it might be a tough day for us.Comeback Kids! Butler and Cameron Keep Us in It
Refusing to back down, Lawrence Butler blasted a 413-foot homer to center field in the top of the 3rd inning, scoring Max Schuemann and reducing the deficit to just one run. Then, in the top of the 4th, Tyler Nevin doubled and moved to third on a wild pitch, setting the stage for Daz Cameron to deliver a crushing two-run homer to right center field. That bomb gave us a 6-5 lead, and you could feel the momentum shifting!Defense and Bullpen Shine
From the 4th inning onwards, our defense and bullpen took control. A combination of Hunter Adams, Zach Erceg, and Ken Waldichuk did an excellent job to keep the Angels off the board. Special shoutout to Tyler Ferguson for shutting down their offense in the 9th inning with two strikeouts to seal the win. Amazing work, team!Tense Final Innings
The game got incredibly intense in the last few innings. With chances to extend the lead, our bats went quiet, but it was the pitching and defense that carried us through. Despite some nail-biting moments when Schuemann got on base and stole second in the 9th inning, we couldn't add insurance runs. Luckily, our bullpen stayed rock solid!Victory Feels Sweet
What a game, what a win! The final score of 6-5 doesn't fully capture the drama and excitement of this matchup. Every player contributed, but special nods go to Lawrence Butler for his multi-hit game and Daz Cameron for his game-changing homer.Stay tuned, A's fans, because if today's performance is any indication, we've got a lot more thrilling baseball coming our way! Let's keep this momentum rolling!
