First Inning: Slow Start

Both teams had a quiet start to the game. For the A's, Lawrence Butler, Miguel Andujar, and JJ Bleday were all retired in quick succession. The Phillies managed to get on the board first with a solo homer by Trea Turner, making it 1-0.

Defensive Stronghold

The Phillies couldn't extend their lead in the second inning thanks to stellar pitching by the A's. We saw Nick Castellanos, Brandon Marsh, and Johan Rojas being retired without much fuss.

Turning Point in the Fourth Inning

The Athletics finally woke up in the fourth inning as Brent Rooker smashed a 450-foot homer, bringing in JJ Bleday to take the lead 2-1. This energized our team and provided the momentum we needed.

Fireworks in the Fifth and Sixth

In the fifth inning, Lawrence Butler launched a 429-foot dinger, driving in Max Schuemann and extending the lead to 4-1. Then came the sixth inning explosion: another homer by Brent Rooker, followed by a solo shot from Seth Brown. The score jumped to 7-1, and the Athletics were cruising!

Seventh Inning Magic

The highlight of the game was the seventh inning when Lawrence Butler hit another homer, driving in Max Schuemann. This solidified our dominance, taking the score to 10-3. Butler was on fire! 🔥

Eighth Inning Onslaught

The A's didn't stop there. Seth Brown and Lawrence Butler each hit solo homers in the eighth inning, pushing the score to 13-3. It was turning into a home run derby, and we were loving it!

Ninth Inning Grand Finale

As if the game hadn't been decided already, Zack Gelof delivered the final blow with a three-run homer in the ninth inning, making it 18-3. The A's offense was relentless, and every run felt like a cherry on top!

Closing the Game with Ease

The Phillies had no answer, and our pitching staff shut them down in the final inning. Kyle Muller sealed the victory, striking out Cristian Pache to end the game. What a way to wrap it up! 🎉

The Athletics dominated the Phillies with a final score of 18-3. 🏆💚💛
