Tough Loss in Extras

Hey Mariners fans! 🌟 It was a nail-biter at T-Mobile Park, but unfortunately, we fell short 2-1 against the Athletics. Breaking down the clash between our very own Seattle Mariners and the Oakland Athletics, it was a battle right until the end. Despite the loss, we certainly witnessed some noteworthy moments. ⚾

Pitcher's Duel and Key Plays

Kirby did a splendid job on the mound, holding the Athletics scoreless through the first three innings. But in the top of the fourth, Jacob Wilson doubled and scored on Darell Hernaiz's single to center field to put Oakland up 1-0. Our defense held tight in the subsequent innings, with crucial plays by Julio Rodríguez and Eugenio Suárez limiting further damage. 💪

In the bottom of the sixth, Randy Arozarena finally cracked through and sent a homer flying at 392 feet to bring the game to a 1-1 tie. It was a breathtaking moment, one that made the stadium roar. 🎆 Unfortunately, we couldn't extend the lead even though Victor Robles managed to get on base with a single in the seventh.

Extra Innings Drama

As the game went to extra innings, Langeliers doubled to right in the top of the 10th, bringing in what would be the decisive Athletics run. In our last gasp in the bottom of the 10th, Jorge Polanco's walk gave hope, but our big hitters couldn't capitalize as J.P. Crawford and Cole Young walked — sadly not enough to clinch the win.

It's disappointing to see the Mariners come up short, but there's always a silver lining. Arozarena's performance and our pitching held the fort for long stretches. Keep your heads up, and let's get ready to cheer loud and proud next game! Go Mariners! 🌊💙
