Tough Loss in Arizona
Hey fellow Phillies fans, tonight was a nail-biting game in Arizona against the Diamondbacks. We got off to a hot start with Harrison Bader drawing a walk and Kyle Schwarber driving him home with a scorching double to left field, putting us up 1-0 in the very first inning. Bryce Harper and J.T. Realmuto continued the momentum as Schwarber made it to third and then scored off a sacrifice fly, giving us a 2-0 lead.
Midgame Struggles
Our lead was short-lived, though. The Diamondbacks, resilient as they are, clawed back into the game. By the bottom of the 6th inning, they'd managed to tie it up at 3-3. Bohm had given us a thrilling moment in the 4th inning with a 412-foot homer to center that reminded us all of his incredible power, putting us up 3-2 at the time. But the D-backs responded as James McCann hit a key double to bring Blaze Alexander home, leveling the playing field.
Missed Opportunities
Our guys fought hard, but ultimately couldn’t convert opportunities in the latter innings. Although Realmuto got a hit in the 8th bringing Harper to third, Brandon Marsh struck out looking, unable to capitalize on the situation. In the 9th inning, a last push by Bryson Stott who singled to left looked promising, but we fell just short when Bader hit into a fielder’s choice to end the game.
The final score was 4-3 Diamondbacks. It's a tough loss, but this is all part of the game. We'll get 'em next time, keep the faith, Phillies fans!
