Early Reds Lead Jazzy Turned Around
The Phillies faced off against the Cincinnati Reds today, and our boys didn't start off on the right foot. In the bottom of the 1st inning, the Reds struck first with a RBI single from Gavin Lux, bringing TJ Friedl home and putting the Reds up 1-0.
Both Teams Struggle to Score
For the initial innings, both teams struggled to make a mark. The Reds clung onto their slim 1-0 lead through the 5th inning, with pitching from both sides doing a lot of heavy lifting. Our lineup needed a spark, but efforts by Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, and Bryce Harper were repeatedly snuffed out.
Phillies Fire Up in the 8th
Our patience was rewarded in the 8th inning when things finally took a turn for the better! Edmundo Sosa started the rally with a single to the right. Weston Wilson doubled, allowing Sosa to score, and then a wonderful scoring sequence ensued when Turner singled and scored on error. This rally continued when the charismatic Schwarber crushed a 404-foot homer to right, bringing Turner home and pressing our score up to 4! The tides had indeed turned!

Closing It Out
The Reds just couldn't respond to our offensive explosion. David Robertson and Carlos Kerkering kept Cincinnati at bay with their stellar closing performances, ensuring that that late-game rally was enough to secure a Phillies win! Our guys showed resilience and determination to claim a 4-1 victory over the Reds. Let's go Phillies!

Final Score: Reds 1, Phillies 4.
