Recap of Another Tough Loss for the Tigers

Hey Tigers fans,
Unfortunately, it was another tough game as we fell to the Phillies 6-2. Here are the highlights and lowlights from today's matchup. 😓

A Promising Start

In the bottom of the 1st inning, Matt Vierling started us off with a bang by launching a solo homer to left-center, tying the game at 1-1. The rest of the inning didn't bring any more runs, but it definitely felt like we were off to a promising start! 🌟

Struggles on the Mound and Missed Opportunities

The Phillies started to gain momentum in the 4th inning with Brandon Marsh hitting a two-run homer, pulling them ahead 3-1. Our struggles continued into the 5th inning as Marsh added two more RBIs with a single, increasing their lead to 5-1. Marsh had an exceptional game against us. 😩

Fighting Until the End

We tried to fight back in the bottom of the 9th. Vierling doubled to center, and Andy Ibáñez pinch-hit for Colt Keith and singled Vierling home to make it 6-2. Unfortunately, that was all we could muster up despite having Ibáñez in scoring position. Riley Greene and Mark Canha both made contact but couldn't bring in the runs needed to close the gap. 🥺

Onward We Go

Even though we couldn't clinch the win, let's not forget Vierling's homer and Ibáñez's clutch hit at the end. The team's young core is showing promise, and we'll have better days ahead. Keep the faith, Tigers fans! 🐯🙌

Next game, let's come back stronger! Go Tigers! 💪
