Tough Night in L.A.
Hey Phillies Nation, it was a rough ride out west as our boys fell to the Dodgers 5-3. Despite a couple of bright moments, the Dodgers' momentum was just too much for us to overcome.Early Lead for the Phillies!
The game started with a bit of a breeze when Nick Castellanos tripled in the 2nd inning. Then, a nifty infield single by Bryson Stott brought him home, putting us on the board. We extended the lead to 2-0 with Stott crossing the plate on a wild pitch. Way to hustle!Dodgers Storm Back in the 3rd
The Dodgers answered with a flurry of hits in the 3rd. After Jason Heyward doubled and Andy Pages drove him in, it was game on. Shohei Ohtani managed a sacrifice fly, and that was followed by a two-run homer from Teoscar Hernández. Ouch. The Phillies Try to Rally
In the 6th, we showed some life again. Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper both got on base, and a groundout by Alec Bohm brought Schwarber home. At that point, the score was Dodgers 4, Phillies 3. Close but no cigar.Dodgers Extend Their Lead
In the bottom of the 8th, Shohei Ohtani lived up to the hype with a solo home run. That shot really hurt, extending their lead to 5-3.Final Push Falls Short
Our last chance came in the 9th, but the Dodgers' bullpen held strong. Nick Castellanos got us started with a single, but Stott, Hays, and Stubbs couldn't find the gaps to keep the rally going.Final Thoughts
It's always tough to lose, especially when we had glimpses of greatness. We've got the talent; we just have to put the pieces together. Keep your heads up, Phillies fans! Let's get ready for the next one.Go Phillies!
