Heartbreak at Dodger Stadium

Hey Phillies Phans, it was a tough night in Los Angeles as our boys took on the Dodgers and unfortunately, came up short with a 0-5 loss. The game started on a hopeful note with both teams putting up zeros in the first inning, but it quickly turned into a challenging uphill battle for the Phillies.

Dodgers Take the Lead

The Dodgers struck first in the bottom of the second inning with Freddie Freeman launching a homer to center field. That was just the beginning as Ben Rortvedt followed with an RBI single, putting them up 2-0 😔. Despite our solid pitching, the Dodgers capitalized on opportunities, stretching their lead in the fourth inning with another run from E. Hernandez.

Phillies Struggle to Get on Base

The Phillies' offense had a hard time finding rhythm tonight. Bryson Stott and Harrison Bader managed to get hits, but unfortunately, we couldn’t convert those chances into runs. Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper faced their fair share of challenges at the plate, struggling against some sharp Dodgers pitching.

Dodgers Seal the Deal

In the eighth inning, Shohei Ohtani crushed another homer, extending the Dodgers' lead to 4-0. They added another run courtesy of a sacrifice fly from Tommy Edman, and just like that, the score was 5-0. The final inning saw some fight from Harper and Castellanos, but with runners on, we just couldn't bring anyone home. 😓

Overall, it wasn't our night, Phans. The Dodgers' pitching was on point, and the Phillies struggled to string hits together. Let's keep our heads up and root for a bounce-back in the next game! 💪 Go Phillies!
