A Thrilling Victory at Citi Field!

What a rollercoaster! Last night's game against the Mets was not for the faint-hearted. Our Philadelphia Phillies pulled off a nail-biter, winning 5-4 in a tense 10 innings showdown. 🙌🎉

Early Game Jitters Turn Into Late Game Thrills

The game started off quiet with both teams showcasing their defense. The first inning ended at 0-0, but it didn't take long for the scoreboard to start lighting up. A moment of brilliance on a bunt by Garrett Stubbs in the 2nd inning scored the first run for the Phils, showing that small ball can be mighty. However, the Mets were quick to respond, finishing the 3rd inning with a lead of 3-1. Tensions were high, but never count out the Phillies!

The Stott Show in the Late Innings

As the game progressed, it seemed like the Mets' lead might be enough. But the fight in our Phillies was evident. Going into the 7th, we were down 3-2, only to be set back further to a 4-2 deficit. Despite the rollercoaster of emotions, the real drama saved itself for the last few innings.

The top of the 9th was heart-stopping. Bryson Stott delivered when we needed him most, smashing a home run to close the Mets' lead to 4-3. Then, with bases loaded, Alec Bohm was hit by a pitch, tying the game at 4-4, all while our pitchers kept the Mets at bay, pushing us into extra innings.

Bryce Harper's aggressive baserunning in the 10th signaled we were not leaving without the win. Stott, again, proved to be the hero with a sacrifice fly that brought Harper home, making it 5-4.

Alvarado Seals the Deal

José Alvarado stepped onto the mound in the bottom of the 10th with one job: seal the victory. He did precisely that, retiring the Mets in order and ensuring the Phillies walked away victorious. 🎉⚾

Last night was a testament to the resilience and sheer determination of our Phillies. Against a formidable Mets team, they showed that no lead is safe against the fighting spirit of Philadelphia. Bryson Stott was, without a doubt, the MVP for his clutch performance, but this was a team victory in every sense.

Onto the next game, and let's carry this incredible momentum forward. Go Phillies! 💪🔥
