A Gritty Victory for the Bucks
Ahoy, Pirates faithful! What a game that was! Our Pittsburgh Pirates came out on top against the Phillies in a tightly contested battle, winning 3-2 and giving us plenty to cheer about!

The game started with both teams struggling to get on the board. Both sides had some solid pitching performances early on that kept the score zeroes for most of the beginning innings.
Early Challenges and Strong Pitching
Our boys had a hard time finding their rhythm at the plate in the first couple of innings. Tommy Pham, Nick Gonzales, and Joey Bart all ended their first at-bats without reaching base. Meanwhile, the Phillies managed to strike first in the 2nd inning when Garrett Stubbs came home after a well-timed double by Otto Kemp, putting us behind 0-1. Our defense stepped up, though, preventing further damage with some sharp plays!
Momentum Shifts and Pirates Strike Back!
The fourth inning turned the tide in our favor. Nick Gonzales showed his grit with a single, and after Henry Davis walked, our trusty Adam Frazier drove in Gonzales to tie the game at 1-1. The rally continued in the 5th, as a chain of quick and disciplined plays led to Ji Hwan Bae scoring and an additional run by Williams. Joey Bart's contribution with a single brought Williams home, solidifying a 3-1 lead!
Nail-Biting Final Innings
The Phillies didn’t make it easy, as Kody Clemens smacked a homer in the 6th, reducing our lead to 3-2. However, our bullpen zeroed in on their task, with pitchers like Rainey, Fulmer, and then Yean holding their ground. The ninth inning was all nerves as Rafael Lantigua threatened on base, but our defense, with every bit of Pirates' tenacity, shut the door on any comeback hopes the Phillies harbored.
Our Pirates endured a fiercely fought contest and came through triumphantly! Let’s keep this momentum going, Buccos!
