This game was a rollercoaster of emotions, and our beloved Giants came through in the end with an unforgettable performance in the bottom of the 9th inning.Early Lead and Tough Battles
The game started off slow, with both teams showing strong defensive plays. Dominic Smith gave us an early lead in the 2nd inning with a solid single to left that allowed Mike Yastrzemski to score. Our pitching staff did a great job keeping the Phillies at bay for most of the game, but the struggles in the 7th inning, where Kyle Schwarber hit a 2-run homer, put us in a challenging position, trailing 1-3.The Electrifying 9th Inning
The heart-pounding 9th inning is where it all turned around. Despite the tension, Casey Schmitt started with a double, setting the stage for an exciting comeback. Wilmer Flores stepped in with a single that moved Schmitt to third, and quick-thinking manager strategy brought Brett Wisely as a pinch runner. Then, the moment of glory came: Patrick Bailey smashed a three-run homer to right-center, clinching the game with explosive power and sending fans into a frenzy!
