Tough Loss Against the Phillies 😢

Hey, Blue Jays fans! We had a tough game against the Phillies today, ending with a final score of 4-2 in favor of the Phillies.

Promising Start for Our Jays! 🌟

The game started with a bang when Kyle Schwarber homered to put the Phillies up 1-0 in the top of the 1st inning. However, our bats came alive quickly in the bottom half. Daulton Varsho doubled and then Vladimir Guerrero Jr. brought him home with a double of his own! Alejandro Kirk followed up by driving in Guerrero with another double, giving us an early 2-1 lead.

Phillies Strike Back 💥

Unfortunately, the Phillies answered right back in the top of the 2nd inning. Kody Clemens hit a 2-run homer to right field, making the score 3-2.

Quiet Offenses in the Middle Innings 🤫

The middle innings were a pitchers' duel. Despite some hits and runners on base, neither team could push any runs across. Our boys couldn't make the magic happen when it counted, with strikeouts and groundouts ending our innings.

Tension in the 8th and Heartbreak in the 9th 💔

In the top of the 8th, the Phillies had runners on second and third with one out, but our pitchers held firm and got out of the jam. But, in the top of the 9th, J.T. Realmuto homered, adding an insurance run for the Phillies.

The bottom of the 9th saw Luis De Los Santos get into scoring position, but Will Wagner struck out swinging to end our hopes of a comeback.

Final Thoughts 🙏

Despite the loss, there were some promising signs. Great early hits from Varsho, Guerrero Jr., and Kirk show our offense can ignite quickly. The bullpen also showed resilience in tight spots. Keep your heads up, Jays fans! We'll bounce back stronger. Let's go, Blue Jays! 💙⚾
