Phillies Take the Early Lead

What a game, Phillies fans! 🎉 We opened strong at the top of the first inning. After Trea Turner singled to center and stole second, he advanced to third on a wild pitch. Kyle Schwarber walked, setting the stage for Bryce Harper to deliver a double to right, leading to an error that scored both Turner and Schwarber! The Phillies were up 2-0. Despite the solid start, we couldn't capitalize further as J.T. Realmuto walked, and Harrison Bader was hit by a pitch, but strikes took care of Edmundo Sosa and Otto Kemp.

The Nationals Tie, But Schwarber and Harper Answer Back

The Nationals put up a fight with an RBI double from CJ Abrams, decreasing our lead. A homer by Daylen Lile in the fourth inning tied the game 2-2. But that Phillies spirit couldn't be shaken! At the top of the 7th, after Bryson Stott and Brandon Marsh got on base, Schwarber smashed a 456-foot home run, bringing all three home. 🏟️✨ Just when it seemed the show was over, Harper sent another missile 414 feet to center, making it 6-2 in our favor. Way to go, Bryce!

Dominant Pitching and Defense Seal the Win

Our pitching and defense stayed sharp throughout. After a strong start from Zack Wheeler, Andrew Banks and Orion Kerkering continued the lockdown, refusing to let the Nationals regain momentum. Finally, David Robertson closed the door on Washington in the ninth. Crucial defensive plays included a thrown-out runner by Nick Castellanos and outstanding fielding by our infield.

Final score: 6-2 Phillies! It was a true team effort and a game to remember. Let's keep that momentum going, Phillies Nation! 💪⚾
