Tough Loss for the Nationals

Nationals fans, it was a tough outing against the Phillies today. While we had our moments, we ultimately fell short with a final score of 11-6. Let's dive into the game recap.

Early Highlights and Opportunities

The game started off slow with both teams scoreless in the first inning. Things picked up for us in the bottom of the 2nd, when Keibert Ruiz launched a two-run homer to left center, bringing in Amed Rosario. That homer gave us an early 2-0 lead. 🎉 Abrams and Wood also showed some hustle with a couple stolen bases early in the game, showcasing our aggressive base running!

Philly's Power Surge

Unfortunately, the bottom dropped out for us in the 6th inning. After Bohm singled and a series of walks, the Phillies pulled ahead with Kyle Schwarber's three-run homer. 😬 This took them past us 7-2. The Phillies' bats didn't slow down, and their runs piled up.

Fighting Back

Attempting to climb back up, Rosario hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 6th. Following that, Nathaniel Lowe belted a two-run homer in the 8th that brought us a bit closer. In the 9th inning, Lowe came through again with an RBI single to bring in one last run. Our hitters were determined, but we just couldn’t bridge the gap.

Closing Thoughts

While it’s always tough to face a high-powered offense like the Phillies, our Nationals showed some bright spots today. Solid performances by Ruiz, Rosario, and Lowe are things to be proud of! Always moving ahead, and there's always the next game, Nats fans! 💪

Let's keep cheering them on—Go Nats! ⚾❤️
