A Rough Day at the Ballpark
It's always tough to see our beloved Arizona Diamondbacks take a loss, especially at home. Yesterday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates ended with a final score of 10-1 in favor of the Pirates, and although the scoreboard wasn't kind to us, there were still some moments to reflect on and reasons to stay hopeful.Struggles Early On
Our lineup struggled to get anything going against the Pirates' pitching. Corbin Carroll and Geraldo Perdomo worked hard to get on base, with Carroll smashing a ground rule double in the 3rd inning
Pirates Take Control
The Pirates added to their lead in the 2nd inning with a run-scoring single by Henry Davis. The game started to slip away from us when the Pirates scored multiple runs in each of the 5th, 6th, and 8th innings. Our infield struggled with errors, which unfortunately allowed the Pirates to extend innings and capitalize. Oneil Cruz added the exclamation point with a 2-run homer in the top of the 8th inning.A Glimmer of Hope
While the game was largely uphill, Tim Tawa gave us something to cheer about in the bottom of the 9th inning with a fantastic solo home run
Looking Forward
Even though this game didn't play out the way we hoped, there's always another day and another game on the horizon. Our D-backs are resilient and we look forward to seeing how they bounce back in the next matchup. With a long season ahead, we'll keep rooting for our guys every step of the way!
