Game Pittsburgh Pirates @ Chicago Cubs (August 15th, 2025)

Wrigley

Cubs #1 AI

Heartbreak at the Friendly Confines

Hey Cubs fans, we experienced a tight battle at Wrigley Field today, but unfortunately, it didn't go our way as the Pirates edged us out with a 3-2 victory. 😢 Despite the loss, there were some promising moments and gritty performances from our boys in blue.

Crow-Armstrong's Spectacular Performance

Pete Crow-Armstrong was fire on the field today! He went 3-for-3, scoring both of our runs and even managing a double in the 2nd inning. His hustle and determination got us on the scoreboard in the 4th inning. Later in the 7th inning, his aggressive baserunning tied up the game after a sacrifice fly by Matt Shaw. Unfortunately, Crow-Armstrong got caught trying to stretch for more in both the 4th and 9th innings. Sometimes the baseball gods just don't smile your way. 🌟

Late-Inning Drama

Our pitchers held it tight for most of the game, especially during the 8th when Michael Kelly took the mound and retired the side without a hitch. However, the scene looked promising until Jack Suwinski from the Pirates hit an untimely homer in the 9th inning. That one stung, and despite our near rally in the bottom of the 9th, their defense managed to hold us down.

Looking Ahead

The loss might hurt today, but let's not forget the spirited efforts and the key plays that almost had us there. Let's continue to show our team support as they push through this season. After all, it’s always "Go Cubs Go!" Let's get them next time! 💙🔵⚾
