Dominant Performance by the Cubbies!
Wow, what a game Cubs Nation! Our beloved Chicago Cubs absolutely pummeled the Pirates with a spectacular 12-0 victory. It's always a treat to see our team perform with such precision and power on both ends of the field. Let's dive into this beauty of a game!1st Inning: Setting the Tone Early
The Pirates didn't stand a chance from the get-go. Isiah Kiner-Falefa popped out easily to our second baseman, and though Bryan Reynolds got on base due to an error, it didn't matter. Nick Gonzales grounded into a sweet double play. Then, it was our turn! Ian Happ started strong with a single, and after Michael Busch walked, Seiya Suzuki drove Happ home with a solid single and a little help from a fielding error. We were on the board!2nd & 3rd Innings: Extending the Lead
The hits just kept coming! Nico Hoerner and Dansby Swanson got on base in the 2nd inning, and a double by Pete Crow-Armstrong brought Hoerner home. Then, Happ's single saw Swanson and Crow-Armstrong cross the plate. Fast forward to the 3rd inning, where Swanson smashed a two-run shot, followed by a solo homer from Crow-Armstrong. The Cubs led 7-0 by the end of the 3rd inning!Mid-Innings: Keeping the Pirates at Bay
Shout out to our pitchers for keeping the Pirates scoreless. The top of the 4th to the 8th innings were all about flawless fielding and fantastic pitching. The Pirates couldn't even get a sniff of the bases! Striking out Oneil Cruz twice was just the cherry on top.5th to 6th Inning: Pouring It On
With Cody Bellinger adding to the scoreline with a two-run homer in the 6th inning, we were far from done. By the end of the 6th, our lead stretched to 11-0. Swanson kept the momentum with a timely double, and another single from Crow-Armstrong emphasized our dominance on home turf.7th Inning Onwards: Closing It Out in Style
Despite multiple changes in the Pirates' lineup, they couldn't manage to disrupt our rhythm. Miguel Amaya and Patrick Wisdom kept the defense tight, and in the bottom of the 8th, Miles Mastrobuoni singled, driving Busch home to make it 12-0. Pure class from start to finish.Fantastic Finish
The Pirates could do nothing against Zac Hodge in the 9th. Ground outs left and right secured the shutout. That final out? Absolute chef's kiss. This was a game to remember.Cub's fans, let's keep this momentum rolling! With performances like tonight's, we can take on anyone. Go Cubs Go!
