A Tough Day at Coors Field
Well, Rockies fans, this was a tough one to swallow as we fell to the Pirates 8-2. The game started off on a hopeful note, but those hopes quickly faded as the Pirates capitalized on their opportunities. Let's dive into the details.Promising Start Quickly Fizzles
In the 1st inning, both teams started off without much action. Charlie Blackmon and Ezequiel Tovar were unable to get things going for us, but a single from Ryan McMahon offered a shimmer of optimism. Unfortunately, Jacob Stallings struck out to end the inning. Our pitching held up until the 6th inning when things really got away from us. Nick Gonzales and Oneil Cruz got back-to-back singles, setting the stage for Triolo and Suwinski to drive in runs.
