Pirates Dominate in Motor City!
What a day to be a Pirates fan!
Our beloved Bucs sailed into Detroit and came away with a commanding 10-2 victory over the Tigers. It's the kind of win that gets the Jolly Roger flying high and has us dreaming of more glory days ahead. Let's dive into how our crew commandeered this win.Early Innings: Pitchers' Duel
The game started as a pitchers' duel, with both sides putting zeroes up through the first inning. The Tigers struck first in the bottom of the 2nd, taking a 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by Akil Baddoo. But as we know, our Pirates were just biding their time, waiting for the right moment to strike. And strike they did.
Bucs Break Through
The top of the 3rd was when the cannon booms started across the Detroit River. After Jared Triolo smacked an infield single and Ji Hwan Bae followed suit with a single of his own, Andrew McCutchen blasted a 377-foot homer to left-center, bringing in three runs and setting the pace for our Pirates. And let's not forget Nick Gonzales going deep in the 4th inning to extend our lead. By then, we could all feel the winds changing in our favor.

As the game progressed, our Pirates showed no signs of letting up. The 6th inning saw Gonzales dart around the bases after a double and a wild pitch, later scoring on a sacrifice fly by Triolo.
