A Solid Start

Hey, Pirates fans! 🎉 What a game! Today the Buccos took on the Los Angeles Angels, and boy did the bats come alive! The first couple of innings were quiet; however, things started getting interesting in the top of the 3rd inning. After Bryan Reynolds got a base hit, Andrew McCutchen grounded out to advance him, and Enmanuel Valdez walked, setting the stage for Joey Bart to single to right, bringing Reynolds home to break the scoreless tie. Ke'Bryan Hayes followed suit by driving in Valdez with a single, extending our lead to 2-0! 🎊

Mid-Game Power Surge

The Angels didn’t stay down for long as Taylor Ward homered in the bottom of the 3rd to cut the Pirates' lead. Yet, our Buccos responded in style. The 4th inning was another huge moment as Andrew McCutchen delivered a crushing 417-foot homer to left center, scoring Oneil Cruz and Bryan Reynolds, making it 5-1! 🤩 Our boys showed resilience when the Angels mounted a mini-comeback in the bottom of the 4th, but we held strong with the score moving to 5-3.

Closing It Out in Style

The late innings belonged to our Pirates! By the top of the 9th, a well-earned walk by Adam Frazier followed by a single from Tommy Pham laid the groundwork for Isiah Kiner-Falefa to slam a ground rule double, scoring Frazier. Then, Bryan Reynolds added the icing on the cake with a single that brought both Pham and Kiner-Falefa home! With a final score of 9-3, our Buccos put on a defensive display in the bottom of the 9th, securing the victory with ease. 😎

All in all, it was a great team effort and an amazing win for the Pirates! Let's keep the momentum going, and here's to more victories ahead! 🏴‍☠️⚾🙌
