Pirates Start Slow in the 1st Inning 
Our Buccos couldn't get the offense sparked early as Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Bryan Reynolds, and Oneil Cruz were all retired in order. The Dodgers, however, managed to push across a run in the first with Gavin Lux doubling to bring in Teoscar Hernández. Score: Dodgers 1, Pirates 0.Missed Opportunities in the 2nd Inning 
The second inning showed a bit of promise with Joey Bart singling to left, but Rowdy Tellez lined into a double play. A fielding error allowed Bryan De La Cruz to reach base, but Ke'Bryan Hayes ended the inning with a strikeout. The Dodgers went down quietly with Austin Barnes and Kevin Kiermaier striking out. End of the 2nd: Dodgers 1, Pirates 0.Couldn't Capitalize in the 3rd Inning 
In the top of the 3rd, Michael A. Taylor and Kiner-Falefa put together singles, and Bryan Reynolds reached on an infield single, but we couldn't push across any runs as Cruz grounded out to second. The Dodgers extended their lead in the bottom of the 3rd with a two-run single from Lux. End of the 3rd: Dodgers 3, Pirates 0.Dodgers Extend Their Lead in the 5th 
Our hitters struggled in the 4th and 5th innings. Teoscar Hernández hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 5th inning, which further pushed the score to 4-0. The Dodgers were in control, and our offense seemed flat. Score at the end of the 5th: Dodgers 4, Pirates 0.Late Game Struggles 
Despite a glimmer of hope in the 7th inning with some hits from Yasmani Grandal and Kiner-Falefa, we couldn't bring anyone home. The top of the 9th inning finally saw some life as Hayes homered to left center (382 feet). However, it was too little, too late as the game ended with a 4-1 loss. Final Score: Dodgers 4, Pirates 1.Summary of Missed Chances and Bright Spots 
It was a tough game for our Pirates. Despite some great individual efforts, like Ke'Bryan Hayes' late homer, the team couldn't find the consistency needed to overcome the Dodgers. Our hitters left too many opportunities on the field, and the Dodgers' pitching kept us in check. Let's hope we can regroup and come out stronger in the next game!
