Tough Battle for the Pirates Against the Brewers
Hey Pirates fans! What a rollercoaster of emotions was today's game against the Brewers. It was a rough outing for us in Milwaukee, but we had our moments. The final score was 5-12 with the Brewers taking the win. Let's break down how the game unfolded.
A Slow Start But Reynolds Shines Bright
The game started quietly as both teams struggled to score early on. By the top of the 5th inning, we were trailing by six. But then, Bryan Reynolds brought some much-needed excitement with a magnificent 378 feet homer to right field in the 5th inning, scoring Ronny Simon and Spencer Horwitz, reducing the deficit. And hold on, he wasn't done yet! In the 6th inning, Reynolds gave us another blast with a two-run homer to right center, bringing us closer to the Brewers. Gotta love Reynolds putting on a power show for the Buccos!
Brewers Pull Away Late
Unfortunately, the Brewers managed to counter every step we took towards catching up. Several strategic plays and a solid rally in the bottom of the 7th, including William Contreras and Christian Yelich getting key hits, widened the gap. Though Tommy Pham gave it his all with a late-game single, we couldn't sustain momentum in the latter part of the game. Still, our boys showed some grit, and we had some highlights worth holding onto, especially with the combined hitting prowess of Reynolds and Nick Gonzales.Keep your heads up and let’s look forward to the next one, Pirates fans!
