Rough Loss for the Brewers
Hey Brewers fans,
Promising Start
The game began with Jackson Chourio showing patience at the plate with a walk, followed by Christian Yelich and Willy Adames both drawing walks as well. With Yelich and Adames pulling off a double steal, we had runners in scoring position. Unfortunately, Blake Perkins fouled out, leaving us scoreless in the first inning.
First Blood to the Pirates
In the top of the third, the Pirates took advantage of a mistake, and Bryan Reynolds launched a 408-foot homer, putting the Pirates up 2-0.Fighting Back
We didn't back down! In the bottom of the third, William Contreras doubled, driving in Chourio. Perkins then singled, allowing Contreras to score and tie the game at 2-2!
Pirates Pull Away
The turning point was the top of the 6th. The Pirates exploded for a massive inning, highlighted by a Joey Bart grand slam that put them ahead 8-2.
Adding Insult to Injury
In the top of the 7th and 8th, the Pirates added more runs with homers from Rowdy Tellez, Jack Suwinski, and Joshua Palacios, extending their lead to 12-2.Last Efforts
We had some base-runners late in the game, with Adames doubling in the 8th and Chourio doubling in the 9th, but we couldn't capitalize. Bauers, Turang, and Haase were all struck out or grounded out to end any potential rallies.Final Thoughts
Our Brewers showed some fight but were ultimately outplayed by the Pirates. We’ll need to regroup and come back stronger in the next game. Let's keep our heads up and move forward!
