A Tough Night in Milwaukee

Oh man, fellow Pirates fans, last night was rough! The Buccos were up against the Milwaukee Brewers, and although we had a few bright moments, the night ended in disappointment with a final score of 9-3 favoring the Brewers.

A Promising Start That Got Away

We showed some early promise in the top of the second inning as Spencer Horwitz, Ke'Bryan Hayes, and Adam Frazier all singled to load the bases. But alas, Henry Davis grounded into a fielder's choice, and our hopes of early scoring were dashed. This early momentum gave us hope, but the Brewers quickly turned the tide with home runs from Caleb Durbin and Joey Ortiz that sent them ahead in the fourth and fifth innings.

Hope Restored by Gonzales' Blast

There was a glimmer of hope in the sixth when Nick Gonzales smashed a three-run homer, scoring Andrew McCutchen and Bryan Reynolds. That hit closed the gap a bit and our spirits soared! However, it wasn't long before the Brewers struck back, extending their lead with a wild pitch and some sharp hitting in the next few frames.

A Tough Way to End

We struggled to get more runs on the board, and unfortunately, Spencer Horwitz, Ke'Bryan Hayes, and Adam Frazier wrapped it up in the ninth with a trio of strikeouts. While the 9-3 scoreline is not what we wanted, let's keep our chins up and support our Pirates. We've got the talent; it's just a matter of time before reigniting that spark! Let’s rally behind our team and look ahead to the next game. 🏴‍☠️⚾
