A Dominant Performance for the Pirates
What a fantastic day to be a Pittsburgh Pirates fan!
Strong Start Sets the Tone
Oneil Cruz kicked things off for us with a double to right field, and after a Andrew McCutchen walk, it was Bryan Reynolds who drove in the first run, with Cruz scoring. Reynolds' RBI set the pace and gave us an early lead. Meanwhile, our pitchers showcased their strength, refusing to let the Padres' lineup take advantage. Tatis Jr. managed an infield single but was left stranded.
The Home Run That Echoed
The standout moment arrived in the 5th inning when Andrew McCutchen blasted a homer to left center, sending the fans into a frenzy.
Sealing the Deal
With precision in both offense and defense, we piled on further in the 7th inning. Reynolds doubled, bringing Cruz home, and Horwitz's single drove in McCutchen. It was an all-hands-on-deck effort with disciplined at-bats, solid pitching, and sharp fielding—keeping the Padres scoreless right through to the end. Hats off to Bednar, who sealed the win in the 9th inning, ensuring the Padres couldn't mount any form of comeback.
Overall, this was a gem of a game for us Pirates fans! Let's keep riding this momentum!
