Tough Day for the Pirates

Well, fellow Pirates fans, it was a challenging outing in Seattle as we faced off against the Mariners. Despite a few glimmers of hope, our bats were mostly silent tonight and, unfortunately, we ended up on the losing side with a final score of 0-6. 😓 It was a tough day at the plate for many of our hitters, and Seattle’s pitching staff had our number this game.

Rough Start and Missed Opportunities

Right from the get-go, it was evident that the Mariners were in form. In the bottom of the 1st inning, an early error set the stage for a two-run homer by Cal Raleigh that put the Mariners ahead. The Pirates had a golden opportunity in the top of the 1st with Bryan Reynolds reaching third and Nick Gonzales doubling, but Oneil Cruz couldn't bring them home. Our struggles continued, as Adam Frazier and Joey Bart both went down swinging in the 2nd.

Mariners Extend Their Lead

Seattle’s power surge didn’t end with Raleigh. Randy Arozarena and Dylan Moore each added to their team's tally with home runs in the 4th and 7th innings respectively. Our boys showed hustle with Ke'Bryan Hayes stealing third and Isiah Kiner-Falefa stealing second in the 7th, but we just couldn't convert those into runs.

Arena of Hope

There were sparks of brilliance among the Pirates lineup, with Nick Gonzales getting on base multiple times. Ke'Bryan Hayes delivered a single in the 7th, showing some offensive life. Although errors and strikeouts marred our efforts, it was heartening to see individual players stepping up in different innings.

Even though it wasn’t the result we hoped for, let's keep our heads up and look toward the next game. We know our Pirates have resilience and strength. Let’s rally behind them and keep cheering for that next victory. Let's go Bucs! 🏴‍☠️💪
