Tough Loss in a Pitcher's Duel
Well, fellow Pittsburgh fans, our Bucs faced a nail-biter against the Mariners and came up just short with a final score of 1-0. The pitching on both sides was exceptional today, with our boys battling all the way through. It's always tough when it comes down to just one run, but credit is due to our pitchers for keeping us in the game!Struggling Offense
It was a tough outing for our hitters. Despite solid contact at times, we couldn't find the gaps or get any momentum going. Spencer Horwitz was one of the few bright spots in the lineup with two singles, but unfortunately, the rest of the lineup couldn't follow suit. Andrew McCutchen and Bryan Reynolds both had tough days at the plate, striking out multiple times. We'll need our bats to wake up in our next games to put some runs on the board!
Defensive Battle
On the defensive side, our pitchers did a commendable job. The Ferguson-Mattson-Santana trio held off the Mariners' lineup, keeping us in the game until the very end. However, Williamson's double in the 6th inning drove in the only run of the game, which happened to be the dagger. Let's not be discouraged Pirates fans! Our boys are putting in the work; it's just a matter of time before we see those victories rolling in!
Let's keep cheering them on and show them our support! We'll get them next time!
