Tough Loss in Boston! 
Our San Diego Padres fell short against the Boston Red Sox with a final score of 1-4. The game started out promising with both teams scoreless in the first half of the 1st inning. However, things quickly took a turn.Devers' Early Blow 
The bottom of the 1st inning was a nightmare. After an uneventful start, the Red Sox's Rafael Devers crushed a two-run homer, bringing Wilyer Abreu home. That set us back early with a 0-2 deficit.Missed Opportunities by the Padres 
We had some chances, like when Manny Machado and Jackson Merrill got on base in the 2nd inning, but we couldn't capitalize. Kyle Higashioka grounded out, and those missed opportunities haunted us throughout the game.Defense Can Only Do So Much 
Although our defense didn't allow any runs in the 2nd and 4th innings, errors like Higashioka's passed ball in the 3rd inning let the Red Sox bring in another run, increasing the gap to 0-3.Solo Homer by Duran 
The 5th inning saw Jarren Duran hitting a solo home run, pushing the Red Sox lead to 4-0. Our efforts on the mound simply couldn’t keep their hitters contained today.Finally on the Board! 
In the 7th inning, we finally scored! Jackson Merrill doubled to center and Ha-Seong Kim brought him home with another double. However, that was our only run for the game, and a late rally never materialized.Relief Pitchers Stopped the Bleeding 
Credit where it’s due: our relief pitchers Willie Peralta, Nick Kolek, and Adrian Morejon kept the Red Sox from further extending their lead. But our bats just couldn’t find the spark we needed.Dominated by Boston bullpen 
In the 9th inning, Kenley Jansen shut us down completely by striking out Merrill and getting Solano and Kim out without any fuss, sealing our fate.On to the Next One, Padres Fans!
