The game started as a pitching duel, with neither team able to score in the first three innings. Xander Bogaerts finally got the Padres on the board with a homer in the 4th, putting us in a 0-1 deficit. Despite some great efforts, including a single by Spencer Steer and a gutsy infield single by Matt McLain, our offense struggled to capitalize until the 6th inning when Elly De La Cruz smashed a single to bring home Will Benson, tying the score at 1-1.The Late-Inning Drama Unfolds 
The Padres regained a 2-1 lead in the 7th inning when Fernando Tatis Jr. scored on a fielder's choice, adding tension to the game as the innings ticked away. But our resilient Reds refused to back down. In the 9th inning, with De La Cruz reaching first, a walk by Gavin Lux, and a crucial single from Spencer Steer, the magic unfolded.Jose Trevino kept us in it with a single to load the bases. And then it was Will Benson who clinched the game in dramatic fashion—he singled to right, bringing Lux home for that sweet victory moment, closing out the game at 3-2!
