Rockies' Early Lead Sets the Pace

Well, Padres fans, tonight certainly didn’t go our way as we visited Coors Field to take on the Colorado Rockies. 🌄 Right from the start, things looked promising when our very own Fernando Tatis Jr. managed to get on base and was later driven in by Manny Machado, giving us an early 1-0 lead. Things couldn’t stay this good forever, though. That tricky Hunter Goodman from the Rockies hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the first, putting us behind 1-3. And unfortunately, it was just the start of what became a tough night for our pitching.

Rockies Extend Their Lead

The Rockies didn’t stop after the first. Hunter Goodman struck again in the third inning with a big triple that brought two more runs home. As much as it pains us to admit, the Rockies had our number tonight. It wasn't until the eighth inning when we managed to show some fight. Machado came through once again to bring Tyler Wade home after Tatis Jr. had already scored, getting the score to 8-3. But then the Rockies immediately responded in the bottom of the eighth with a solo homer from Ryan McMahon.

Counting on Tomorrow

Despite the offensive surge in the eighth, we fell short, and the game ended with a score of 9-3 in favor of the Rockies. Tough as it might be, let's keep our heads up, San Diego faithful. We've got the spirit, and we know our team has the talent. Let's come back strong tomorrow! 💪⚾ As always, keep the faith, Padres fans! 🏟️ Let's hope we can turn things around in the next match-up.
