Frustrating Day in Miami for the Padres 
Well, fellow Friar fans, today's game against the Marlins was a nail-biter, but not with the outcome we were hoping for. Our San Diego Padres fell short in a tight 3-2 game against Miami, even though our guys showed some grit and determination throughout.Early Game Woes
The game started with our Friars struggling at the plate. Fernando Tatis Jr., Luis Arraez, and Manny Machado all went down in order in the top of the first inning. Meanwhile, Miami took an early lead as Agustin Ramirez singled bringing Xavier Edwards home after an earlier walk.Padres Find Brief Momentum 
In the top of the 4th inning, Luis Arraez got us on the board, with a single to left that turned into a run thanks to a rare pickoff error by the Marlin's catcher Nick Fortes. Manny Machado followed with a pivotal single that drove Arraez home to tie the game. It was a glimmer of hope for all of us supporting the Friars!Marlins Pull Ahead
Unfortunately, the bottom of the 5th inning saw the Marlins gain the upper hand again. An error from Manny Machado allowed Javier Sanoja to reach first, followed by a two-run homer by Jesus Sanchez. The Fish pulled ahead 3-1, and our guys struggled to regain momentum after that.Too Little, Too Late
The top of the 8th was a last stand for the Padres. Jackson Merrill doubled, and with Jose Iglesias stepping in to pinch-hit for Tyler Wade, his single to right brought Merrill home, narrowing the gap to 3-2. Despite the valiant effort, including a single from Fernando Tatis Jr., we just couldn’t get the necessary hits to bring in more runs. The bottom of the 9th came quickly, with the Marlins’ defense holding us back.In the end, even though the Padres showed moments of brilliance, it wasn’t enough to topple Miami today. Let’s keep the faith and hope that our boys bounce back in the next game!
