Tough Day at Target Field
Fellow Twins fans, it was a rough outing today against the San Diego Padres as we fell 12-3. This one started off as a tense pitcher’s duel, but unfortunately, the Padres had an explosion of runs in the late innings, and we just couldn't keep up with their pace.
Promising Start Derailed
The game began on a hopeful note thanks to Trevor Larnach placing us on the scoreboard first in the third inning with his single to right that brought James Outman across the plate. Byron Buxton then thrilled the crowd with a two-run homer in the bottom of the 5th, giving us a modest lead of 3-1. His shot to right was a beauty—gave us all something to cheer about! But...that's pretty much where the good news ended.
Pitching Push Falls Short
Ryan Fitzgerald and the pitching crew did an admirable job through the first four innings, holding the Padres scoreless, but the wheels started to come off later in the game. Elias Díaz's first home run in the 5th powered them back to life, and a disastrous 7th inning saw the Padres bring in seven runs. Their bats awakened with relentless singles and homers from Díaz and Ramon Laureano, who widened their lead drastically. We simply couldn't contain them and missed critical chances to close the floodgates.Seeking Bright Spots
Despite the loss, there are some bright spots. James Outman showed his speed with an infield single and a stolen base to set up our first run, while Byron Buxton continues to prove why he's a key player with his powerful hitting and patience at the plate. Let's hope this loss becomes a learning opportunity as we move forward. Let's keep up the Twins spirit and look forward to bouncing back stronger in the next game.

Onward and upward, Twins Territory!
