Early Inning Struggles
The start of the game felt like a classic pitcher's duel

. In the first few innings, both teams struggled to get on the scoreboard. Our beloved
Fernando Tatis Jr.,
Luis Arraez, and
Manny Machado all found themselves heading back to the dugout without causing much damage in the Top of the 1st inning. Neither side could capitalize on early baserunners, keeping the score knotted at zero.
Missed Opportunities
The tension continued into the middle innings as both teams had fleeting chances to break the deadlock

. Our
Xander Bogaerts hit a promising double in the 2nd inning, but the Giants shut down our boys before we could cash him in. This continued with tight plays and strategic pitching, leading to many stranded runners on both sides.
Late-Inning Dramatics
As the game pressed on into extra innings, our Padres were looking to seize the moment

. It was in the Top of the 10th inning that our squad finally broke through:
Jake Cronenworth advanced to third on a savvy sacrifice bunt by
Tyler Wade. Then,
Jose Iglesias stepped up, delivering a critical sacrifice fly to get Crony across home plate. Finally on the board, Padres led 1-0!
Sealing the Victory
The bottom of the 10th had us on the edge of our seats!

The Giants tried to rally, but
Nick Martinez and our bullpen kept them at bay. Our defense held strong, with
Matt Chapman and
Jerar Encarnación making outs to deny any chance of a comeback.
In the end, it was a pitching masterclass and timely plays that earned us the win. We're heading home with a 1-0 victory!

Hats off to the Padres for pulling through in a nail-biting game against the Giants! Let's keep this momentum going!
