Braves Take Early Lead!
The game started off strong for our Braves, even though the first inning was quiet on both sides. Pitchers from both teams were on point initially, and strikeouts were the name of the game. The magic happened in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Austin Riley and Sean Murphy hit back-to-back home runs! Riley's bomb to left went 407 feet, and Murphy followed up with a 430-foot blast to center, giving us an early 2-0 lead.Giants Battle Back in the 5th
Things started to take a turn in the top of the 5th. The Giants answered back with homers from Jorge Soler and LaMonte Wade Jr., tying the game at 2-2. Their offense got a spark and quickly turned the tables. Despite a brief relief pitching appearance from our bullpen, the Giants managed to capitalize.Missed Opportunities in the 5th
We had a golden opportunity in the bottom of the 5th to retake the lead. With Adam Duvall on second and Forrest Wall on first, Zack Short sacrificed them into scoring position, but Jarred Kelenic and Ozzie Albies couldn't bring them home. It was a tough inning ending with us still tied.Giants Pull Ahead Thanks to Errors
This was a rough one. In the top of the 6th, the Giants' Michael Conforto scored on a brutal fielding error by Riley, which allowed Luis Matos to reach first. Losing the lead due to errors never feels good, and it certainly deflated some of our momentum.Albies Gives Us Hope!
In the bottom of the 8th, Jarred Kelenic doubled before Ozzie Albies singled to center, bringing Kelenic home and trimming their lead to 4-3. Albies also stole second during Marcell Ozuna's at-bat, but unfortunately, Ozuna struck out, leaving us unable to push through another run.Giants Seal the Deal
The Giants' Heliot Ramos delivered a dagger with his 9th-inning homer to right, extending their lead to 5-3. It was a tough blow, and although we didn't go down without a fight, we couldn't scratch across any more runs in the last inning against the Giants' closing pitchers.Tough Loss
Final score: Giants 5, Braves 3. Despite the early fireworks, it just wasn’t our night. Kudos to Riley and Murphy for those fantastic homers, and a shoutout to Albies for trying to get us back in it. Chalk this one up as a learning experience, and let's bounce back in the next game. Go Braves!Scoreboard for Giants @ Braves (July 2nd, 2024)
