Middle Innings See Giants Break It Open
In the 5th inning, Casey Schmitt showcased his power with a solo shot to left-center (392 feet), stretching our lead to 3-1. But that wasn’t enough! Wilmer Flores decided to add to the fireworks with a 385-foot two-run homer following a single by Dominic Smith. This brought our lead to a comfortable 5-1 cushion. The Rockies scraped together a couple of runs in the bottom of the 5th and again in the 7th with a two-run homer by Hunter Goodman, narrowing the gap to 5-4.Closing the Deal with Strong Pitching and Big Bats
As we headed to the 8th inning, the tension was palpable. Enter Patrick Bailey, who unleashed a clutch two-run bomb to right field, scoring Jung Hoo Lee and further solidifying our lead at 7-4. With Joey Lucchesi and Walker stepping up on the mound in the final innings, the Rockies couldn’t find any late-game heroics to counter. Lucchesi and Walker shut the door, with Walker getting the final out on a Tyler Freeman strikeout to secure the victory.
That’s another fantastic win for the Giants against a determined Colorado squad. Way to play, team! Let's keep this momentum rolling!
