A Rocky Start
It was a tough one, Rockies fans.
Fighting Back
In the bottom of the fourth, the Rockies began their rally. Ezequiel Tovar ignited the lineup with a single to right, and Hunter Goodman followed suit with a single of his own, pushing Tovar to third. Brenton Doyle stepped up with a crucial single to the left, bringing home Tovar and narrowing the gap. Later, in the 5th inning, the team really rocked the house. Hits from Kyle Karros, Tyler Freeman, and Goodman turned the momentum around, as an error by the Giants’ defense allowed us to stack up runs to take the lead 5-4.
Giants' Response and Final Inning Drama
The lead was short-lived, unfortunately. As Chapman and Drew Gilbert came alive for the Giants, each smashing home runs in the sixth and seventh innings respectively, our bullpen faltered slightly, allowing the Giants to surge ahead 10-5. However, true to their fighting spirit, the Rockies made the closing moments electrifying. We loaded the bases and saw heroics from Goodman once again. His double in the bottom of the ninth brought home Mickey Moniak and Freeman. Despite these efforts and narrowing the score to a 10-8 finish, we just couldn't overcome the deficit.Final Thoughts
Though we didn't come out on top, take heart, Rockies fans! The team showed resilience, and we've got the potential to bounce back in our next matchup. A shoutout to Freeman and Goodman for their standout performances. Keep the spirits high, and let's look forward to the Rockies rising again!
