A Rough Day in Houston
Fellow Astros fans, today was a tough game as we faced off against the San Francisco Giants. The final score was 7-2 in favor of the Giants, and despite some highlights, we struggled to find our rhythm until the late innings.
Early Struggles at the Plate
Jose Altuve grounded out early, and though Isaac Paredes walked, we couldn't capitalize. Yordan Alvarez was caught looking, and thus, no runs for us in the first. The second inning wasn't kinder as Jeremy Peña, Cam Smith, and Mauricio Dubón went down swinging—not the kind of start we were hoping for.
The Giants Extend Their Lead
The Giants' bats started to heat up with Wilmer Flores hitting a three-run homer in the 6th inning, pushing their lead to 5-0. Their momentum carried into the 9th inning with Matt Chapman driving in two more runs.Astros' Late Rally
We finally broke through in the 8th inning. After a Cam Smith hit-by-pitch and a single by Jose Altuve, Isaac Paredes doubled to center field, scoring both Smith and Altuve! It gave us a glimmer of hope with the score at 5-2. But unfortunately, we couldn't keep the momentum going. Our 9th inning bats went down with little to show.Looking Ahead
It was a day where the Giants' pitching overpowered our lineup for the most part. We can only look ahead and keep our Astros spirit high
