Cardinals Start Strong in First Inning

What a fantastic start for our beloved Cardinals! It all began with Masyn Winn's double to center, which was swiftly brought home by Alec Burleson's single. Not only did Burleson bring the first run, but he also stole second and then got moved to third by Nolan Gorman's fly out. Brendan Donovan hit a ground rule double to score Burleson, and Matt Carpenter brought Donovan home with a single, giving us a solid 3-0 lead! 💥

Early Defense Shuts Down the Giants

Our defense was on point in the early innings. The Giants couldn't get anything past our infield and outfield, with their first few batters striking out or flying out. Special mention to the pitching, which kept the Giants scoreless through the first seven innings. 💪

Burleson and Pagés Shine in the 2nd Inning

Pedro Pagés showed his speed and agility with a single followed by a stolen base. Alec Burleson stepped up again, scoring Pagès with another single. This gave us a comfortable 4-0 lead! Burleson even stole second base once more! The game was starting to look good for the Cards. 🚀

A Bit of a Lull in the Middle Innings

The game steadied out, with neither side managing to score through the 3rd to 6th innings. It seemed like our defense and pitching were in control, but the Giants were also starting to tighten up their game.

Giants Fight Back in 7th and 8th Innings

The Giants finally got on the board in the 7th inning with Patrick Bailey hitting a homer to right. In the 8th inning, they scored two more runs, cutting our lead to just one run. It was getting intense, but our boys held strong.

Clutch Plays in the 8th and 9th Innings

Dylan Carlson doubled to center and was brought home by Brandon Crawford with a double to right field, restoring our lead to 5-3 and providing some much-needed insurance runs.

Helsley Closes It Out

In the top of the 9th, Ryan Helsley came in and shut the door on the Giants, striking out both Jorge Soler and Matt Chapman to seal the victory. What a game!

Final Score: St. Louis Cardinals 5, San Francisco Giants 3 🎉

It was an all-around great team effort with fantastic pitching, defense, and timely hitting. Go Cards! 🐦🔴⚾
