Tough Night in the Desert

Well, Mariners fans, it was a tough night out in Arizona as we faced off against the Diamondbacks. With an early lead, hopes were high for our M's to grab the win, but unfortunately, things took a turn late in the game. 😓

Strong Start Ignites Hope

J.P. Crawford got us started by grounding out, but Julio Rodríguez quickly brought life to the inning with a single to left. Cal Raleigh walked, setting us up nicely with two on base. Though Randy Arozarena grounded into a fielder's choice, it moved Rodríguez to third. And then, Jorge Polanco came through with a single, letting Rodríguez score the first run. 🙌 Mitch Garver unfortunately struck out swinging to end our turn, but we held a 1-0 lead moving into the bottom of the 1st.

The Game-Changing 6th Inning

Things were looking good as Donovan Solano hammered a homer to left, extending our lead to 2-0. 😄 But the excitement was short-lived. The bottom of the 6th saw the Diamondbacks mount a comeback. After Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte got on base, Josh Naylor walked, loading the bases. Unfortunately, Eugenio Suárez hit a homer, clearing bases for a 4-2 Diamondbacks lead. A solo home run by Pavin Smith added to our woes, bringing the score to 5-2.

Missed Opportunities and Closing Notes

Despite chances, the Mariners couldn't capitalize to narrow the deficit. Julio Rodríguez showed spark with a couple of doubles, and Donovan Solano had a strong showing with a home run and a single. But as a team, we couldn't find that groove. The D-backs held strong to seal a 5-2 victory. 😔

We'll keep our chin up and look forward to the next game. Let's bring that Mariners magic back on the field! Go M's! 💙⚾
