A Tale of Two Halves: Red Sox Crush Mariners 14-7!
Hey Sox Nation! What a game! The boys in red sure gave us a roller coaster of emotions, but we pulled off a dominant 14-7 win against the Mariners. Let's dive into the action!Pitcher's Duel in the Early Innings
The game started off tight with a pitcher’s duel. Both teams couldn't get on the board in the first two innings. Our own Jarren Duran, Wilyer Abreu, and Masataka Yoshida couldn't manage to reach base, but our pitchers kept them tied going into the third inning.Red Sox Explode in the 3rd Inning
The floodgates opened in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Connor Wong started the inning with a single, and after Ceddanne Rafaela added another single, we found ourselves on the board as Wong scored on a wild pitch. Then Wilyer Abreu drove in Duran, followed by a two-run homer by Masataka Yoshida to right center! Rafael Devers, Tyler O'Neill, and Dominic Smith continued the onslaught, each getting hits to score more runs. By the end of the inning, we were up 7-0!Mariners' Response and Our Continued Dominance
The Mariners got one back in the 4th thanks to a sacrifice fly, but we answered right back in the bottom of the same inning. Ceddanne Rafaela's single followed by timely hitting from our lineup extended our lead to 10-1.Solo Sizzle: Red Sox Keep Their Foot on the Gas
In the bottom of the 5th, Dominic Smith added a solo home run, making it 11-1. A throwing error and a double from Jarren Duran added another, pushing our lead to 12-1. The Mariners tried to rally with back-to-back home runs in the 6th, but our offense wasn't done yet. The Mariners tried to mount a comeback in the 8th, scoring four runs off some shaky pitching, but Zack Wingenter and Nick Horn held them off in the final innings. The Red Sox secured the win 14-7, showing their offensive dominance!Key Highlights
